Thothe Technologies is the successor to GeoFoto, which was founded in July 1999 by a group of database researchers at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. It started by providing the photo sharing social networking system, and end-to-end solution that connected the database to the photo printing machine in individual outlets. The company was renamed Thothe Technologies in August 2004 to better reflect its expanded scope of solutions, services, and R&D. In classical Egyptian mythology, Thoth was the God of Wisdom and Knowledge. The 'e' in "THOTHE" emphasizes the company's focuses on digital technologies.
